looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2 ESV
Good Morning Men of God,
During this time of year when we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ I always think to hours before his death. The fact that my Savior endured excruciating pain, abandonment from his closest friends and separation from God the Father is astounding to me. From the moment He entered into the world he was destined to die to pay for the sins of an entire generation. Our text today tells us that Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before him. As we go into today, understand that you are the Joy that was set before the Lord that enabled Him to endure the cross. The thought of an eternity with you was the driving force behind His sacrifice. Being reconnected with you made it worth the nails in his hands and feet. Saving us from ourselves was worth the excessive beating and ridicule. He looked into the future, saw you, and it gave him Enduring Joy. That is worth a celebration all by itself. My hope for you today is that you acknowledge your worth in God's eyes. The value on an object is based on how much you are willing to pay for it. Jesus paid the ultimate cost for you. Regardless of what you are going through today. No matter the obstacle you are trying to climb over today. Walk in the Joy of the Lord knowing that God's plan for you is perfect. He did not endure the cross to then allow you to be defeated or devoured by the enemy. Take comfort in His Enduring Joy.
Love you guys,
Patrick
