While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
Matthew 4:18-20 ESV
Good Morning Men of God,
Can we respond to the call of Christ the same way the first disciples did? In our text today Jesus, who was becoming known in the region called Peter and Andrew. Having heard the teaching of John the Baptist concerning Christ. Having experienced His teaching and power (Luke 5:1-11), they had proof that Jesus was the chosen Messiah. They believed enough to immediately depart to follow him in his work. Can we follow him and represent him today with that same abandoned commitment. We as Men of God have seen and experienced the move, miracles, and power of God. He is calling us to follow him in how we live our lives and represent him. Can we mimic the boldness of the first disciples? This does not mean we walk away from our families and responsibilities. It means we hold our integrity as followers of Christ, in higher priority than what this world says or thinks about us.. It means we dedicate ourselves to the work that God is doing around us. It means we care more about looking like Christ, than the celebrity figures of this day. Think about it.
Love you guys,
