where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.' As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'"
Hebrews 3:9-11 ESV
And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
Hebrews 3:18-19 ESV
Good Morning Men of God,
The battle of unbelief is something we all struggle with from time to time. We find ourselves in situations that seem too big and we question whether or not God can be God in our situation. In that moment we begin to experience unrest as anxiety, worry, and fear settle in. We end up in a situation void of the power of God. Not because God is not able but because our lack of belief. In our first text today, the writer references 40 years of miracles, and a people that still lived with characteristics of unbelief. The people of Israel were delivered from slavery, and provided for in the wilderness for 40 years. They experienced the tangible, visible power of God daily but they still doubted in their hearts. Are we different from them? We also, experience God daily. His protection. His Love. His provision. We bathe in it daily, but how does it effect our belief? This is a question we all have to answer individually. I pray that you apply what God has done for you in the past to your next crisis of belief. The same God that sustained you in the last storm, will shelter you in the next. Only Trust Him.
Love you guys,
Patrick
