Too Cool to Praise!

And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn. As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord , and she despised him in her heart. And David said to Michal, "It was before the Lord , who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord —and I will celebrate before the Lord . I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes. But by the female servants of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor."

2 Samuel 6:14‭-‬16‭, ‬21‭-‬22 ESV

Morning Men of God,

We all have something to thank God for. Even if we are dealing with struggles right now, the fact that you are reading this means you are alive. That by itself is enough to sing praises to God. In our text today, King David was so thankful, so overwhelmed by the presence of God that he danced his clothes off. Now, I am not telling you to get naked; but when was the last time you stopped to praise God with the same enthusiasm that you cheer for your favorite sports team? Are you too cool to praise? I don't mean the quite, mumble praise. I mean the outward HALLELUJAH cry that expresses our gratitude to the Risen Savior for dying for our sins. The leaping GLORY GOD that showcases our thankfulness for the provision for our families. If you do it for college football, do it for Jesus. There will be some people, like in the text that don't understand your praise. That is fine. When they ask you about it, use that as an opportunity to share Jesus Christ. Even amidst adversity, there is a lot to thank God for. Don't be too Cool to Praise! Love you Guys!

Patrick
